According to the Mayo Clinic, cellulite affects more than 80-percent of women.
“Caused by heredity, hormonal changes, poor circulation or an accumulation of toxins, the cottage cheese-like appearance of cellulite often develops in women’s thigh and buttock areas,” writes Livestrong Magazine.
“Seen as a dimpled or knotted texture on the skin, cellulite is a type of fat that doesn’t easily disappear without some type of alternative treatment,” the site says.
Since the accumulation of cellulite can often be linked to poor circulation, coffee grounds have been shown to be an effective way of increasing circulation in the area where cellulite has struck your skin.
What You Can Do:
Since it is never recommended to wash coffee grounds down the drain, try washing off your coffee scrub outside with a hose or spray. This way, the coffee grounds cannot later build up and cement themselves in your drain. Using the coffee grounds from your morning cup of coffee works. Otherwise, you may also mix plain (unused) coffee grounds with coconut oil for an added moisturizing affect.
” This may help remove toxins and excess water from the tissue, thereby lessening the dimpled texture,” writes Livestrong.
